Clinical Case - Wound from Poisonous Animals' Bites and Stings

WOUND from POISONOUS ANIMALS'
BITES  and  STINGS

*They are animal poisonous snakes, scorpions and spiders.

Offidians Accidents
The gravity of the ophidian accident depends on the amount of inoculated poison and of the speed of the attendance to the patient.

In Brazil 90% the accidents are originated from the jararaca
snake
that belongs to the genus Bothrops
(Photo 1), 9% refer to the cascavel snake - genus Crotallus (Photo 2) and 1% are relative to other groups such as coral snake - genus Micrurus (Photo 3) and surucucu snake - genus Lachesis (Photo 4).

Arachnids and Scorpions Accidents
In some cases are very aching and in others they can cause ulcerated lesions.
The accident with the brown spider - genus Loxosceles (Photo 5) is common, because it can be found inside our homes.

Hyperbaric oxygentherapy (HBO) can be indicated as a therapy to attenuate the toxic effects of poisons.
